Very difficult to source as seed. Hand collected locally from a range of different forms of Daphne bholua shrubs, including the popular ‘Jacqueline Postil’ variety. These are the most amazing scented, winter-flowering shrubs. With multiple clusters of between 15 to 30 fragrant flowers in shades of light pink to purple. Once seen and smelt, never forgotten and the flowers can appear from December through to April. A brilliant nectar and pollen source for winter bees. Growing to nearly 3 metres, seed-grown shrubs should gently sucker and spread once established, It’s a challenging shrub to grow, and should flower in about 5 years from sowing, but worth it for the results. The seed will be sent ready for early sowing in damp compost, and has already been chilled to aid germination this year. Only available for about 4 weeks.
