Description
Actaea simplex ‘Hillside Black Beauty’
stands out as one of the darkest varieties among these magnificent plants, boasting leaves with an almost black hue. Its white, sweetly scented flowers grace the garden with their presence, held high on narrow spikes atop rigid, self-supporting stems. While it prefers a sunny site, it also thrives in semi-shaded conditions, making it versatile in various garden settings. This variety is truly special, adding depth and contrast to any landscape. With a height and spread ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 meters (4-5 feet), it commands attention in the garden. For optimal growth, provide well-drained soil and consider companion plants that complement its striking foliage and height, such as Astilbe, Rodgersia, or Ligularia.
