Ground cover plants

A good plant for ground coverage provides rapid and dense coverage, they are generally a low maintenance option and are great at helping to keep the weeds at bay.  They are ideal for filling gaps and they can create an amazing carpet effect.  Paired with other ground covering plants you can really brighten up an otherwise dull area, by creating an area bustling with colour, texture and form.  They work really well around trees, to edge a border and in rockeries.
