Verbascums, or mulleins are wonderful for creating colour in a planting scheme and are happy in poor soils. 'Plum Smokey' is a dwarf form with low rosettes of green leaves and multi branching stems bearing masses of dusky purple flowers that are a magnet for Bees and Butterflies. Perfect for beds, borders and gravel gardens. Prefers an alkaline, well drained soil. Height 45cm Spread 30cm. Flowers in Summer.
