Unlike its more common relatives, T. montana produces distinctive flowers that set it apart. The blooms, which appear in late spring to early summer, are borne on tall stems that can extend up to 60 cm in height. These flowers are a delicate shade of cream to almost white, with orange coronas and a subtle, sweet fragrance that differs from the garlicky scent often associated with Tulbaghia species.
