Easy to grow evergreen rosettes with broad very hairy leaves, each tipped with deep red. Pink flower spikes are borne in summer. Prefers poor soil with good drainage. Ideal in walls, pots and rockeries. Can be grown in areas almost without soil, hence the common name 'House leaks'
