Tightly packed neat mounds of silvery evergreen foliage bear almost 'alien-looking' dark pink flower spikes during March and April. Like most alpines it prefers a sunny well drained site with no competition from other plants. A quite spectacular, if not a little strange, plant. Height 10cm (4").
