(H358) A truly sought after plant, very rare and difficult to get hold of this is a division from Ian Salters original plant. Short in stature only getting to about 35-45cm tall (14-18") the colour is superb. The upright hoods and tubes are a beautiful glowing mahogany with the lips and inners being almost black (hence the name). Originally from a batch of seedlings at PJ plants. Worthy of any collection. Like all Sarracenias they need to stand in 2.5cm (1") of soft (rain) water in acidic nutrient-less soil in full sun for good growth. They are efficient fly and wasp catchers both indoors and out. Good as container plants. Keep well hydrated spring to autumn but keep just damp in winter. Needs a cold winter dormancy for long term plant health. Good flycatchers for a sunny window sill. Plants may be sent bare rooted.
