(Minumum 25 seed per packet open pollinated) Now this is an impressive plant! With bright green pitchers, red veins and a huge hood (12cm across!) Not the tallest of plants at 55cm in height but the wide mouth and large, wavy hood ensure that it makes a real impact! A great plant from Ian Salter. Like all Sarracenias they need to stand in 2.5cm (1") of soft (rain) water in acidic nutrient-less soil in full sun for good growth. They are efficient fly and wasp catchers both indoors and out. Good as container plants. Keep well hydrated spring to autumn but keep just damp in winter. Needs a cold winter dormancy for long term plant health. Good flycatchers for a sunny window sill.
