This plant really packs a punch! The flowers, borne in early spring, are large and striking with beautiful deep red petals. A strong fast growing hybrid with chunky golden brown pitchers, and darker bronze upright hoods, suffused with red giving quite a lovely combination. An early plant that creates a real statement. Height 30-45cm. Like all Sarracenias they need to stand in 2.5cm (1") of soft (rain) water in acidic nutrient-less soil in full sun for good growth. They are efficient fly and wasp catchers both indoors and out. Good as container plants. Keep well hydrated spring to autumn but keep just damp in winter. Needs a cold winter dormancy for long term plant health. Good flycatchers for a sunny window sill. Plants may be sent bare rooted.
