An in teresting and unusual shrub for gardeners seeking something distinctive. Its green, densely spiny stems produce sweetly scented white flowers, later giving way to dainty miniature oranges. Hardy and adaptable to various conditions, this distant relative of the orange tree thrives best in a sunny location. Reaching heights of 3m (10') or more, its leaves emit a delightful fragrance when crushed. Native to China, it favours acidic soil. This remarkable plant pairs well with unusual companions like Aralia elata and Calycanthus floridus.
