Plectranthus madagascariensis, often referred to as Variegated Madagascar Plectranthus or Variegated Moss Coleus, is a charming perennial native to Madagascar. This plant typically grows to a height of 30-60 cm (12-24 inches), forming a bushy, spreading habit ideal for hanging baskets, ground cover, or mixed container plantings.

The foliage is the star feature of this Plectranthus species. Its small, rounded leaves are distinctively variegated, typically displaying a creamy white or pale yellow margin around a green centre. This variegation creates a striking contrast and adds a bright, lively touch to shaded areas. The leaves are densely arranged along the stems, creating a lush, cascading effect. When touched, the foliage releases a subtle, pleasant fragrance.

In late summer to autumn, Plectranthus madagascariensis produces delicate spikes of small, tubular flowers in shades of pale lavender or white.
