The evergreen, spiky, glossy leaves (on attractively red tinged stems) are bronzed when young, becoming dark green with age. Clusters of yellow flowers appear in spring followed by purple/black berries in summer and autumn. An easy and reliable shrub, tolerating most conditions including semi shade.
