(Crepe Myrtle). A beautiful, though not very hardy shrub from China and Korea, with upright growth and oval, dark green, shiny leaves, bronze when young and red in autumn. Large panicles of lovely white, pink or mauve flowers with crinkled, creped petals. Prefers a sunny sheltered site where it can achieve tree like proportions. Also excellent as a conservatory plant.
