A compact hydrangea with deep red flowers that turn to dark wine-red, borne during late summer and persisting well into the autumn. Prefers a sunny but moist site away from the worst of the winter weather. A nice shrub. 1-1.5m (3-4'), Old seed heads can be dried for winter decoration.
