With its silver grey downy leaves, long mauve flower spikes and peppermint scent, Silver Mint is an unusual and highly ornamental addition to the herb garden where it tends to be used both ornamentally and for cooking. As with most Mints it is a spreading plant, great for ground-cover as well as being an excellent nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. Can be used for mint sauce, Indian chutneys and is good with lamb and potato dishes. Prefers sun or partial shade. Good for flavouring sweets or ice-cream. Can be dried. Very invasive, plant in a container.
