Borage is a self-seeding annual plant; with hollow, bristly, branched and spreading stems that grows up to2 feet tall. The striking, blue or purplish, star-shaped flowers from June to August are loved by bees. The young leaves can be picked and used in salads where they taste like cucumber. It is a very pretty herb and will seed freely in the garden. Prefers a sunny well drained site.
