Euphorbia 'Miners Merlot'
A striking spurge that commands attention with its rich, wine-coloured foliage and architectural presence. Growing to approximately 45-60 cm in height, Euphorbia 'Miners Merlot' forms a compact, upright habit that brings both structure and dramatic colour to the garden throughout the seasons. The deep burgundy leaves maintain their intense colouration from spring through to winter, creating a magnificent backdrop for the lime-green bracts that appear in spring.
The contrast between the dark foliage and acid-yellow flowering bracts creates a spectacular display that catches the eye from late winter onwards. As the season progresses, the bracts age to deeper tones, extending the period of interest well into summer. Like all euphorbias, the plant produces a milky sap that can irritate skin and eyes, so caution is needed when handling.
'Miners Merlot' thrives in well-draining soil and full sun, though it tolerates partial shade admirably. Its bold character makes it perfect for contemporary gardens, gravel plantings, or as a dramatic accent in mixed borders.
