One of the best of the ferns with lovely bronze or reddish fronds in the Autumn, hence the common names 'Autumn Fern' and 'Japanese Red Shield Fern'. Evergreen plants give rise to new fronds that are a brilliant coppery pink, gradually ageing through yellow and then a vibrant green. Prefers a semi shaded site, including dry shade, where it will look spectacular. A personal favourite. Height and spread 75cm (2.5')
