A deciduous shrub which grows to about 1-1.5m. high. Very fragrant purple flowers cover naked stems during Feb and March. Must have a cool well drained root run. Plant in good soil mixed with some compost. Like all Daphnes it prefers a limey soil and resents root disturbance. Incorporate lime or brick rubble when planting. CAUTION toxic if eaten/skin allergen .
