A deciduous shrub grown for its autumn foliage as well as its flame coloured stems in winter. Will brighten up a dark area in the garden in the darkest months. Best planted in groups to make a really big impact. If left un pruned it will grow to 1.5m(4') in 5 years but the colour will not be quite so bright. Prune hard every two years to retain stem colour. Tolerant of wet conditions
