The leaves, typically heart shaped or ovate, may display intricate combinations of green, red, purple, pink, yellow, and even black. Some cultivars feature bold, contrasting veins or borders, whilst others showcase subtle ombré effects. Although Coleus can produce small, insignificant flower spikes, they are usually pinched off to encourage bushier growth and maintain the plant's ornamental leaf display.
