(Box Elder) A rather special Acer, differing from most in its virtually indestructible constitution. Easily tolerating both wet feet in the winter and moderate amounts of wind it is a good ornamental tree for difficult sites. Red tassles are borne on bare branches adding interest before the purple tinged leaves arrive. Golden autumn foliage just add to its charm. A small tree growing to about 3 metres in height. Just lovely!
