It only seems like last month when we were planning our 14th winter gardening weekend and we are now planning the fifteenth. Every year we try to do something different on the stage and this year is no exception. what are we going to do, maybe something with Snowdrops? who can tell…. It will be difficult to better last years but we will give it a good try!
After an interesting year which saw a wet Winter, A lovely Spring, a glorious Summer and a spectacular Autumn we are delighted to welcome back many old friends to share in one of our favourite times of the year. Sincere thanks to them all – we couldn’t do it without them.
Tyssul Hall will be a wonderland of Winter interest with our hellebores again taking ‘centre stage,’ enticing us with their subtle beauty and proving what an invaluable addition they are to the winter garden. Sarcococca, Daphnes and Viburnums will be delight you with their wonderful scent, whilst delicate cyclamens and snowdrops nod their heads. Also here will be Hostas, Schizostylis, Asters and many many more interesting herbaceous plants.
At our nursery, which covers over three acres you will be able to see our Hellebore growing area, the parent plants (where our 20,000 hellebores are produced) and the plantings in our radically re-vamped open garden. The main nursery specialises in herbaceous perennials, shrubs, and alpines with a large selection of trees, conifers, climbers and seasonal plants. We also carry a wide range of ornamental pots and stoneware. If you would like to just browse at the nursery our staff will be more than happy to help. The coffee shop at the nursery will be open for tea, coffee and cakes whilst at the hall there will also be cakes, sandwiches and soup available if you feel the need to take a break and refuel!! Also there will be an assortment of gardening related stalls featuring paintings, ceramics and other crafts and interesting bits and bobs.
We look forward to seeing you and hope you enjoy the day.
